Overview
Purdue Electric Racing (PER) is a student organized team to develop an all electric, formula style race car for the Formula SAE student competition. Many teams from across the world design, build, and compete with their vehicles in different events that evaluate the engineering practices and vehicle performance.
 Involvement
I joined the team my sophomore year as a member of the drivetrain sub-team. Although my work is varied throughout the vehicle, my focus was in learning about drivetrain systems and helping design the optimal system for the team’s vehicle specifications. I provided input to concept generation for different design’s and helped integrate them into the vehicle.
I contributed significantly to the manufacturing stage by spending countless hours using CNC mills, Lathes, and Waterjets to construct the design.

Partial drivetrain system

I became the co-lead of the drivetrain team, taking on more responsibility of team goals, as a mentee to become the full lead the following season. As a lead, I focused the sub-team to be goal oriented and improved member involvement in projects. I became an important member of the overall team as his knowledge of the entire vehicle grew.
